Hello, I am the Executive Director of the Ruth House. I would like to introduce myself. I struggled with substance abuse for 15 years. Throughout those years I went through numerous programs but it wasn’t until I surrendered doing things “my way” was I able to begin the journey of recovery. I have 2 children. In 2018 I gave my parents guardianship of my son due to the state of my addiction. In 2019 I had my daughter, where DCS became involved in our lives due to my continued drug use, and she was also placed with my parents. In August of 2020, I went through two programs that completely changed my life, Ruth House being one. While working through their program, Sullivan County Community Hospital partnered with the Ruth House, allowing our residents to seek gainful employment. Little did I know through every position I held while there, God was preparing me for this opportunity to serve my community in this capacity.

Once I completed all of the requirements of DCS and the Ruth House, I was able to provide my children and myself with the stable home and life they deserved. I became highly involved in our local Celebrate Recovery where my support community became a staple in my recovery. Shortly afterwards, I was asked to join the board of the Ruth House, where I served for a year and a half.

In 2024 I was asked to be the Executive Director of our program. I was honored at the request and knew this was the next step in my recovery- to carry the message. I am passionate about women having the opportunity to change their lives around. It is a blessing to be a part of seeing the light come on in one’s eyes.
